So, we haven’t posted for a while because we’ve been moving a third of the way around the world. I’m going to post a few separate entries over the next few days, and Cece will try to get a word in edgewise.

We resigned from our jobs two weeks before we left the country, and thought it might be too much time. We’re making this move on a shoestring budget and thought we might be able to squeeze out one last week of salary, and our ducks were mostly in a row so we thought we’d only need about a week to do the final errands.

Hoo boy am I glad we took two weeks. We could’ve used three.

It came down to the last day. We had completed a hundred tasks but still had twenty left to do. Eventually, we had to do triage – anything we could do from New Zealand would be done from New Zealand.

For everything else, we had until 7pm. Our flight was at 10:30 PM, so our friend Shiloh was coming at 7:30 to get us to the airport by 8:30. I had a bunch of errands to run while Cece had a ton of things to do at home. But, having until 7:00 should make it doable.

Until we learned that Air Pacific had changed the flight from 10:30 to 9:30 without telling us. Something about them not accounting for their own daylight-savings time.

So, with an hour less than we thought we had, we finished most of what we needed to do anyway. We just forwent the whole “eating” thing that day.

So now we’re here, and some things are left to be done, and I have a dozen kind emails I have yet to reply to. But the important part is: we’re here!
